Job Summary
Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds while providing SMART customer service and coaching front-end associates on departmental duties and sales opportunities. Execute register activities including proper change, security tag removal, and merchandise bagging, while assisting with line vesting and opening additional registers to manage checkout flow. Manage register areas by confirming scanner functionality, stocking supplies, and performing daily cash counts and reconciliations. Monitor cash drawer and recycler levels, inspect returned merchandise for damages, and verify price matches against competitor data. Ensure store security by detecting shoplifting signs, triggering alarms, and communicating risks to management, while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards through daily reviews and hazard reporting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Desired Qualifications
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 Year Experience as a head cashier
- Less than 1 Year Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than 1 Year Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
