Job Summary
Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register while providing SMART customer service and coaching associates on departmental duties. Manage register activities by providing change, removing security tags, and preparing the register area at shift start and end. Verify price matches, inspect returned merchandise for damages, and complete daily cash counting and reconciliation. Monitor merchandise movement, detect shoplifting signs, and communicate security risks to management. Ensure compliance with housekeeping and safety standards, including daily safety reviews and securing store entrances. Operate store equipment as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Desired Qualifications
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 Year Experience as a head cashier
- Less than 1 Year Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than 1 Year Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
