Job Summary
Execute daily cashier operations including processing sales, returns, and refunds while providing SMART customer service and coaching associates on sales opportunities. Manage register areas by counting cash, reconciling drawers, verifying product information, and stocking supplies. Monitor store security by inspecting merchandise for damages, detecting shoplifting signs, and responding to alarm triggers. Assist customers with locating, demonstrating, and loading merchandise while verifying price matches and competitor pricing. Ensure compliance with safety standards, housekeeping programs, and equipment protocols throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Desired Qualifications
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 Year Experience as a head cashier
- Less than 1 Year Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than 1 Year Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
