Job Summary
Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using the cash register while providing SMART customer service and assisting with locating and loading merchandise. Coach associates on departmental duties, verify price matches, and manage store use lists. Complete cash counting, daily reconciliation, and drawer monitoring to ensure compliance with limit requirements. Inspect returned merchandise for damages, remove security tags, and bag items for customers. Monitor store entrances and exits for shoplifting risks, detect alarms, and communicate security concerns to management. Maintain a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews, clearing aisles, and securing doors and gates. Operate store equipment including CCTV, copiers, and power tools as needed. Perform register area preparation and stocking at shift start and end.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Desired Qualifications
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 Year Experience as a head cashier
- Less than 1 Year Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than 1 Year Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
