Job Summary
Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register while providing SMART customer service and coaching associates on departmental duties. Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise, then assist with line vesting and opening additional registers to manage checkout flow. Prepare register areas by confirming scanner functionality and stocking supplies, while inspecting returned merchandise for damages and entering customer orders. Monitor cash drawer and recycler levels, conduct daily reconciliations, and detect shoplifting signs by communicating risks to management. Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards, safety reviews, and equipment operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Desired Qualifications
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 Year Experience as a head cashier
- Less than 1 Year Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than 1 Year Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
