Job Summary
Greet customers upon entering and exiting the store, engaging in conversation to provide personalized service while meeting digital receipt program goals. Accurately scan every item purchased, ensuring merchandise is rung through and paid for before the customer leaves, and treat all merchandise with care during bagging. Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases by completing required background checks, and promote the Scheels Visa card while explaining all benefits. End each transaction by saying "thank you," assist with Gun Room housekeeping, and ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed. Execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions. This part-time role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1-3 months of cashiering experience, with a starting pay of $16 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
- Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
- Complete firearm background checks
