Job Summary
Develop and write grant proposals to foundations and grant-making organizations; assemble and submit grant requests including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations; establish and maintain relationships with foundation contacts and program officers; conduct prospect research and manage a calendar of submissions and deadlines; provide administrative follow-up for grants received; monitor grant funds and prepare reports; maintain schedule to ensure timely submissions of inquiries, proposals, and reports; requires bachelor’s degree and strong writing, communication, and organizational skills; 8+ years of related grant-writing experience considered for the position; role involves part-time, year-round responsibilities with potential evenings/weekends as needed; proficiency with MS Office and database management is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, English, writing or similar field
- 8 or more years of related service credit toward minimum education requirements (grant writing experience accepted)
- Demonstrated successful grant writing experience
- Excellent writing and computer skills (MS Office Suite) and database management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with ability to implement systems and follow-up processes
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with CEO, staff officers, foundations and outside agencies
- Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs (evenings, weekends & holidays)
- Ability to perform essential duties
