Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Texas Education Agency standards and district curriculum, incorporating accommodations for diverse learning styles. Teach core academic subjects while employing varied instructional techniques and technology to foster intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Collaborate with staff on instructional goals, analyze student data to address academic needs, and supervise instructional aides. Manage classroom behavior, create appropriate learning environments, and compile required reports and records. Assist students in refining study habits and assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities. Maintain professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and community members while adhering to the Educator Code of Ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for subject/level assigned
- 30 hours of GT professional learning including Nature and Needs and ID and Assessment
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
- Clinical teaching or approved internship
- Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance
- Lifting and carrying 30-55 pounds with assistance
- Lifting and carrying more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance
- Work performed on campus, indoors and outdoors
- Biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Work with frequent interruptions
