Job Summary
Exhibit and mentor scholar-athletes in good sportsmanship and fair play while instructing them in basic rules and fundamentals. Monitor athlete conduct during practices and games, ensuring a safe environment by checking equipment before each session and preventing injuries through balanced workouts. Assist in implementing training programs, manage athlete registration and evaluations, and maintain the evaluation database. Attend mandatory coaches' meetings and uphold the school's core values to foster an equitable team environment. Light travel occurs between campuses and to Bay Area competitions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Association)
- Volleyball playing and coaching experience (3+ years preferred)
- General knowledge of best practices in interscholastic athletics and volleyball, specifically
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
- Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
- Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20-50 pounds
- Exhibits and mentors the scholar-athletes in good sportsmanship and fair play
- Attends mandatory coaches' meetings
- Monitors the conduct of their scholar-athletes during practices and games
- Provides a safe environment for the scholar-athletes by checking the playing area and equipment before each practice and game/competition
- Prevents injuries through thoughtful, balanced workouts
- Instructs scholar-athletes in the basic rules and fundamentals of the sport
- Assists in implementing training programs to develop athletes in the sport
- Implements athlete registration and evaluations and maintains the evaluation database
- Upholds Crystal's core values
- Fosters an equitable and inclusive team environment
- Light travel between the MS and US campuses
- Travel to and from competitions in the Bay Area
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of minimum related experience is preferred
