Job Summary
Teach up to three students at a time in small group settings, delivering instruction in both French and English while following Oxford Learning's provided curriculum. Guide students through academic and study skills, explain provided materials, and help learners discuss their understanding without requiring lesson planning. Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates while maintaining a friendly, professional manner. Work directly with students to help them develop self-confidence and overcome academic hurdles. This is an in-person role requiring after-school and evening hours, some Saturdays, and a commitment until the end of the school year. Applicants must reside near Coquitlam, Burquitlam, and pass vulnerable sector screening.

- All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (3:00pm - 8:30pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 3:00pm)
- A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred
- Continuing through the summer is even better
- Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must
- Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English
- be comfortable teaching up to a Grade 9 level
- up to Grade 12 is preferred
- The candidate is required to instruct class sessions in French
- This role is in-person
- You must be able to commute to this location
- This is not an online position
- Relocation packages are not available
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 French core curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong French skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Coquitlam, Burquitlam area
