Job Summary
Greet all bank customers entering the branch courteously and operate teller windows to process deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, and loan payments. Enter transactions into the computer system, issue receipts, and balance currency, coin, and checks in the cash drawer. Assist customers with account questions, place holds as appropriate, and record interactions in the bank's CRM platform. Order daily cash supplies and identify cross-sale opportunities to present current and non-customers with additional services. This part-time float teller role is located in Springfield, Illinois, with a salary of $16.00 per hour plus a $500 bonus after six months.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Six months to one-year related experience and/or training in area of cash handling or customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly (both written and verbally)
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to use good judgment in making routine and complex decisions
- Ability to accurately handle large sums of cash
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to quickly learn other bank related programs
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be available for in-office position located in Springfield, Illinois
