Job Summary
Supervise a group of toddler age children in the Enrichment Program while implementing culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and other staff by modeling relationship-building skills and adhering to safety, cleanliness, and child abuse prevention standards. Attend staff meetings and trainings, and maintain current CPR, first aid, and child abuse prevention certifications within 30 days of hire. This role supports the Y's mission of strengthening community through youth development and healthy living within the YMCA values framework.
Required Qualifications
- experience working with young children
- familiarity with the State of Maine Early Childhood Learning Guidelines
- Creative Curriculum
- NAEYC Accreditation Standards
- current CPR/First Aid certification
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- a commitment to the field of early care and education
- Previous experience working with children
- preferably in a childcare setting
- At least 18 years of age
- State of Maine childcare provider background check
- CPR, first aid, AED certifications
- child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
