Job Summary
Part-time, seasonal flag football coaching role for St. Austin Catholic School for Grades 5/6 and 7/8 during Fall 2025 season. You will coach one game per week (typically Tue/Wed/Thu 4:00–6:30 PM), lead two practices weekly (e.g., Mon and Wed 3:45–5:15 PM), prepare athletes for regular-season competition and CAPPS Flag Football Championship Tournament, teach fundamentals of passing, route running, defense, communication, teamwork, and sportsmanship, and maintain communication with families via the parent portal. The coach will model Catholic values, foster an inclusive, mission-aligned team culture, and report to the Athletic Director. Season runs August 10 – October 27, 2026; practices at Pease Park or leased fields; games on weekday afternoons/evenings; location Austin, TX. Employment is governed by Diocesan policies and is at-will; required to work some nights and weekends and to adhere to school/Diocese codes of conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school or equivalent
- Experience: Previous coaching and/or playing experience
- Certifications and Training: Valid Texas driver's license
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies
- Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and school administration
- Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration
- Must complete Missionary Discipleship for Catholic Schools (Level 1) within two years of hire
- Working Conditions: Nights and weekends, able to manage stress, standard gym/field/school conditions
