Job Summary
Process daily payroll adjustments, verify substitute and stipend payments, and maintain accurate leave records. Manage purchasing by approving purchase orders, inspecting inventory against orders, and remitting invoices to Accounts Payable with documented principal approval. Reconcile bank statements monthly, monitor general ledger reports, and file sales and use tax returns. Handle general office duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, distributing mail, and obtaining equipment service. Submit required reports for fire drills, OSHA, and workers' compensation claims. This part-time role supports the Principal in overseeing all financial aspects of the school, including grant funds and athletic gate changes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Accuracy and completeness for all payroll and financial processing
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping/accounting
- Understanding of NC School Uniform Chart of Accounts
- Knowledge of federal, state and local purchasing requirements
