Job Summary
Instruct undergraduate and graduate students in English courses delivered online, on campus, or via competency-based education formats. Develop new courses aligned with departmental needs and instructional schedules, utilizing synchronous or asynchronous methods to ensure meaningful student interaction. Compensation is determined by the University of Maine System Part-Time Academics Collective Bargaining Agreement, with rates varying based on assignment, rank, and experience. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until May 30, 2027, and candidates must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and transcript. Candidates selected will undergo a background screening, and the University does not sponsor visa holders.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution
- Doctorate, terminal degree, or other advanced degree in the field of study
- Significant work experience in a related field
- Appropriate technology to effectively teach in an online environment
- Computer (desktop or laptop) with sufficient processing speed and capabilities
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- Webcam
- Microphone
- No Visa sponsorship support required
