Job Summary
Perform comprehensive building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and apartment turnovers. Complete custodial and groundskeeping duties such as floor care, sanitation, landscaping, snow removal, and upkeep of indoor/outdoor common areas. Conduct regular inspections and respond to work orders to identify, prioritize, and resolve safety, maintenance, and operational issues. Monitor life safety systems and ensure compliance with health, fire, and safety standards while maintaining accurate records and inventory. Support overall facility operations including vendor coordination, equipment upkeep, emergency/on-call response, and collaboration with staff and residents. This part-time role requires 20 hours per week Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM at a rate of $21.00 to $23.00/hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of general building maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Sensitivity to the needs of older adults
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and other physical tasks for extended periods
- Must pass a pre-employment screening
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must pass a drug test
