Job Summary
Experienced Veterinary Assistant role focusing on weekend part-time coverage in Urgent Care for pets. Responsibilities include pet restraint, triage, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases, administration of medications, communication of treatment plans to clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. Requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and ability to withstand odors/noises; opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and ongoing development. Pay range $17-$20 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and potential education support.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience required
- Weekend availability is a requirement
- Ability to restrain pets
- Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus
