Job Summary

Coordinate event setups and teardowns through the Facilities work order system, partnering with event managers and student employees to ensure accurate, on-schedule execution. Supervise student staff for logistics, scheduling room furnishings like stages and pipe and drape, while managing staffing levels and recruiting new hires. Maintain event inventory, support custodial teams, and perform hands-on facility tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and operating equipment. Work onsite in Chicago, IL, averaging 28 hours weekly with rotating evenings, weekends, and longer shifts for major events. Requires a valid driver's license, high school diploma, and alignment with Moody Bible Institute's Christian mission and Statement of Faith.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to coordinate schedules, staffing, and multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and word processing applications
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Candidates must demonstrate alignment with Moody Bible Institute's mission, doctrinal beliefs, and Christian values

  • The position requires the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • The position requires the ability to set up and arrange tables, chairs, stages, and event equipment
  • The position requires the ability to push and pull carts, gondolas, and other equipment
  • The position requires the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, and climb ladders as needed
  • The position requires the ability to operate basic custodial tools and equipment when assisting with event support and campus readiness
  • This is a part-time position averaging 28 hours per week
  • Work schedules will vary based on event needs and will include evenings, weekends, and occasional longer hours for major campus events

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in event coordination, event operations, facilities support, or event management
  • Custodial or facilities services experience
  • Experience supervising student employees or part-time staff
  • Familiarity with scheduling, work order, or event management systems
  • Advanced computer skills
