Job Summary
Prepare accurate cost estimates and take-offs for high-end residential construction projects by reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation. Produce detailed material and labour estimates using Bluebeam or similar software, ensuring outputs are converted into Excel/CSV format for import into Buildertrend. Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify project details and maintain accuracy across all estimating documentation while meeting agreed timeframes. This remote role supports the delivery of bespoke homes and high-end renovations for Australian clients, requiring experience estimating projects in the $2M–$10M+ range. Candidates must possess advanced Excel skills and the ability to estimate from structural engineering drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Experience estimating residential construction projects within the Australian construction industry
- A solid understanding of Australian construction terminology, methods, and standard building practices
- Experience using Bluebeam or a comparable estimating software
- Experience converting take-offs (from Bluebeam or similar) into Excel/CSV format for import into Buildertrend's estimating module
- Advanced Excel skills (cost plan templates)
- Experience estimating high-end residential projects in the $2M–$10M+ range
- Ability to estimate from structural engineering drawings, not just architectural
- Experience costing provisional sums and PC items for bespoke/high-end finishes
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- The ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and consistently meet deadlines
- Be available for meetings and collaboration during core [AEST or PHT] business hours
