Job Summary
Part-Time English Tutor positions in after-school programs. Tutor students in reading, writing, and literacy, lead structured sessions for small to mid-sized groups, monitor progress, and communicate with program coordinators. Role emphasizes building student confidence, improving comprehension and writing mechanics, and adapting instruction to student needs across K–12, with sessions typically 1–4 hours per week over a ~10-week program. Requires at least 60 college credits (Associate degree or in progress) and strong ELA skills; previous tutoring or classroom experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 60 college credits (Associate degree or in progress acceptable)
- Strong English Language Arts skills appropriate to the assigned grade band
- Experience working with school-age students (teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable supporting learners with varied learning levels
