Job Summary
Part-Time Employment Specialist to coach individuals with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment in Mercer County, NJ. Responsibilities include helping clients develop resumes, apply for jobs, and conduct interview practice; teaching independent job skills and providing supports such as assistive technology and personal assistance; analyzing tasks and breaking them into manageable steps; identifying and addressing problems to prevent crises; building a supportive network between individuals and the community; providing progress updates to employers, families, staff, and management; ensuring accurate program documentation and billable records; and reporting program status. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, valid driver’s license, and at least two years of relevant experience; strong communication, time management, and teamwork abilities; and willingness to complete required state trainings. The role emphasizes direct client support and collaboration with licensees and department staff, with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Minimum two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
- Ability to work individually and with a team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
