Job Summary
Teach general music to elementary students (PreK-5th) at St. Thomas Catholic School, integrating Catholic faith and liturgical goals. Plan and implement engaging music lessons, teach singing, rhythm, movement, and basic music theory, and expose students to varied musical styles while fostering creativity. Prepare students for the Christmas program and end-of-year events, maintain a structured and welcoming classroom, collaborate with teachers and administration for school-wide events, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families. Responsibilities include fostering a faith-filled classroom environment, supporting student learning, and aligning lessons with the school’s mission. Strong classroom management, lesson planning, and ability to lead student performances are desired; familiarity with liturgical music and ability to accompany on piano or other instruments are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
- Experience teaching music in school/church/private setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead music classes and student performances
