Part-Time Elementary & High School Tutor

Job Summary
Teach up to four students daily in elementary and high school subjects including math, science, English, and French using pre-planned lessons and Oxford Learning methodologies. Deliver daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanour to build academic confidence. Work in-person at the Don Mills location during after-school and evening hours, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with flexible availability between shifts and optional Saturday coverage. Candidates must reside within a short commute of North York/Scarborough and complete mandatory vulnerable sector screening.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Third-year university students with tutoring experience
- Working towards or having a teaching certification
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Availability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
- Commitment through to the end of the 2026-27 school year (June 30th), with the possibility of continuing through the summer
- This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position
- Relocation packages are not available
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the North York/Scarborough area
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Desired Qualifications
- The ability to teach French
- Saturday availability (9 am to 1 pm)
- Saturday availability is an asset but not a requirement
