Job Summary
Provide activities for children aged 2-5 in the Early Education Center program while maintaining safety, behavior standards, and compliance with program policies. Greet and monitor adults during pick-up, complete routine paperwork, and submit first aid or accident reports as necessary. Assist in daily clean-up and closing procedures, performing other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher. This role requires a Child Development Teacher's Assistant Permit or ability to obtain one within 90 days, with a valid driver's license and auto insurance. The position involves a flexible schedule that may include weekends or evenings, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in dynamic, fast-paced conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year paid or volunteer experience in working with preschool-age children
- Child Development Teacher's Assistant Permit or Higher
- Ability to obtain a Child Development Teacher's Assistant Permit within 90 days of hire
- Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with coworkers
- Ability to relate well to all preschool-age children
- Ability to support in the infant/Toddler program
- Ability to bend or squat to attend to children's needs
- Ability to sit on the ground as needed
- Ability to lift and carry a 45lb child to safety or in the event of a medical emergency
- Ability to push or pull a crib or stroller with multiple infants in an emergency
- Ability to visually supervise children and listen to them to maintain their safety in accordance with California State Licensing's health and safety regulations
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours
- Valid driver's license in the state where he or she is based
- Appropriate auto insurance as required by law
