Job Summary
Implement individuals' plans consistent with their specific services, goals, and outcomes while ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Support and teach individuals across all settings, actively engaging them in skills development, socialization, and task participation. Promote community inclusion by modeling interactions with neighbors, co-workers, and peers, and assist in maintaining positive communications with family and advocates. Transport individuals or assist with public transportation, participate in recreational activities and outings, and document necessary information in medical, behavioral, and communication books. Provide appropriate levels of supervision, safeguard confidentiality, report incidents immediately, and maintain equipment and supplies. Maintain certifications in AMAP, CPR/First Aid, and SCIP.
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
- One year or more experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Valid NYS driver's license
