Job Summary
Greet customers and accept donations in an efficient, courteous manner, working outside in all weather conditions. Unload donations from vehicles or other areas, inspect items, and sort them into appropriate bins or production areas based on quality decisions. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment at the donation entrance, parking lot, and remote sites by following opening and closing procedures. Track daily donation levels to prevent overstocking, communicate when trucks are needed, and assist drivers with loading and unloading. Ensure supplies are stocked and follow all safety processes and retail policies. Act as a backup for other departments as required.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines
- Must have basic computer skills to be able to log into a computer system to order supplies and to send and receive email
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures
- Must be able to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack
- Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary
- Must be able to lift 45 lbs & over - FREQUENTLY
