Job Summary
Greet customers at retail centers and donation drop-off points, unloading items from vehicles and handling goods with care. Sort donations into appropriate bins or production areas, inspecting quality to direct items to the sales floor or shipping locations. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment at the donation entrance, parking lot, and remote sites, ensuring supplies are stocked and trailers are tracked to prevent overstocking. Communicate timely with the warehouse when trucks are needed and assist drivers in loading donations. Follow all safety procedures, policies, and Goodwill standards while working varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- availability to work evenings and weekends
- Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines
- Must have basic computer skills to be able to log into a computer system to order supplies and to send and receive email
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures
- Must be able to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack
- Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary
