Job Summary
Load and unload trailers, sort and label skids, and stack goods safely while performing daily forklift inspections. Assist drivers with loading and unloading, maintain good housekeeping around the dock area, and submit reports in a timely manner. Conduct inventory counts based on bills of lading and manifests, perform basic arithmetical calculations, and implement safe freight handling procedures. Submit needed reports and information in a timely manner. Assist supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Required Qualifications
- Proper loading in and out of trailers
- Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
- Sort and label skids and place in proper locations
- Perform inventory count based on bills of lading, trailer manifests or packing slips when loading and unloading goods or when loading and unloading shipments and returns
- Assist drivers in loading / unloading of goods or equipment
- Performs daily routine inspection to forklift
- Maintain good housekeeping around dock area
- Stack goods neatly and safely
- Submit needed reports and information in a timely manner
- Perform basic arithmetical calculations including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
- Assist supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers
- Load and secure shipments according to proper procedure
- Understand and implement safe, efficient freight handling and lifting procedures
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
- Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen
