Job Summary
Prepare and portion food for residents, employees, and special events using standardized recipes and proper food safety techniques. Serve meals and snacks according to planned menus and resident diet orders while maintaining accurate temperature logs for food storage and dishwashing. Wash dishes, clean work areas, and ensure adequate supplies of food and equipment are available. Report stock levels, equipment issues, or temperature discrepancies to the supervisor promptly. Work as a team member interacting positively with residents, families, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members
Desired Qualifications
- Tenth grade or above desirable
- Experience in food service desired
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred, or other food safety certification as required in state or county of facility
