Job Summary
Provide outstanding customer service to all visitors, operating the admissions area to handle cash transactions and process ticket sales. Assist with guided and group tours, educational programs, and school visits while supporting museum events like fundraisers and public outreach. Respond to visitor inquiries in person, by phone, and through email, and help maintain exhibits and visitor areas. Perform light cleaning and organizational tasks to ensure displays remain presentable. Be available for a flexible schedule including evenings or weekends for special events.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of experience in customer service, hospitality, education, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage people of all ages and backgrounds
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor
- Basic computer literacy and experience with cash handling or point-of-sale systems
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently or as part of a small team
- Willingness to learn and share information about the museum's history and exhibits
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must live in the State of Texas
- Must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired
- Must pass a background check
