Part-time Custodian

Job Summary
Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment for parish operations. Clean floors, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas using sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and heavy equipment. Remove trash, empty waste containers, and transport materials to disposal areas. Move heavy furniture and supplies, set up decorations for events, and respond to emergency situations like spills or broken windows. Use cleaning chemicals safely and report maintenance issues. Requires Catholic faith, high school diploma, and ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Work may extend beyond standard hours into evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to perform physical tasks in a variety of environments
- Attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in accordance with established procedures
- Ability to climb up to 15 feet
- Ability to balance
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects and materials up to 30 pounds
- Appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings
- Public behavior consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church
- Public behavior that does not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience demonstrating the ability to safely and effectively operate custodial equipment and perform the physical requirements of the role
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
