Job Summary
Deliver equipment and supplies, clean restrooms, and sweep, vacuum, dust, and empty trash as needed. Set up and take down school-related activities, move furniture, and keep grounds free of rubbish. Raise and retire the United States flag daily, assist the maintenance technician, and report safety hazards requiring repairs. Communicate with the supervisor when problems occur and adhere to all policies while performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- MSDS and blood borne pathogens training
- Ability to wear respirator and gloves as needed
- Lift on a regular basis 30 to 40 lbs
- Walk approximately 90% of the time
- Sit approximately 0% of the time
- Stand approximately 5% of the time
- Kneeling / Stooping approximately 5% of the time
- Reaching with hands and arms on a regular basis
- Must use own initiative and judgment in performing job
- Performs as directed; responsible for own job under direct supervision
- Completes work with minimum contact with others
- Routine work with little planning needed
- Willingness to be an integral member of a successful team
- Dedication to provide the highest level of service
- Desire to be at work and on time daily
- Adherence to policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Less than a high school diploma
- Less than one year experience in custodial work is preferred
- Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents and children
- Demonstrate knowledge / proficiency of equipment, tools, materials and skills
