Job Summary
Respond to people reaching out for crisis support via voice, chat, and text by greeting clients, using active listening, and establishing rapport. Explore the person's experiences and feelings using responsive language, identify warning signs, and assess safety and risk levels. Provide confidential contacts, ensure information privacy, and refer clients to appropriate resources or engage 9-11 for emergency intervention when necessary. Accurately document all interactions in contact reports and complete administrative tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to established protocols while participating in scheduled staff meetings and supervision. Complete the mandatory 120+-hour initial training and fulfill at least 5 hours of annual refresher training. Work 16 hours per week across morning, evening, and overnight shifts in a fully remote setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must have successfully completed mandatory 120+-hour HopeLink Crisis Services Crisis Worker Training
- Ability to support people in crisis using voice, chat, and text
- Willingness to work across different service areas based on program needs
- Computer experience and proficient typing skills
- Ability to remain alert on scheduled shifts
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy issues within a crisis center program
- High degree of empathy toward the people we serve

- Experience working swing shifts preferred for overnight positions
