Job Summary
Provide therapeutic support and crisis intervention for Alaskans accessing the statewide suicide hotline via phone, text, or chat. Implement policies and protocols to assist individuals in crisis or those concerned about suicidal behavior, while offering support, information, and referrals for non-crisis calls. Interact with clients and staff in a respectful, empowering manner, maintaining confidentiality and exercising dependable attendance. Attend all mandatory staff meetings and demonstrate proficiency with computers for frequent data entry. Work part-time (less than 31 hours per week) across multiple shifts including evenings, overnights, and weekends in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Human Services or a closely related field
- Prior work or life experience
- Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills
- Commitment to the agency's mission and goals
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles
- Ability to work independently
- Pass a background check
- Proficiency with computers
- Frequent data entry
