Job Summary
Performs food service and preparation activities in accordance with SJATRC's policies and quality standards; ensures safety and cleanliness standards are maintained; monitors inventory and reports discrepancies and utilization trends; prepares appetizing and nutritional meals; responsible for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, coolers, storerooms and dining areas; organizes coolers and storerooms for incoming orders; plans, prepares and packs meals for day trips; consults with on-duty cooks for assistance with meals or special events; reports any problems with residents to the Dietary Director or clinical staff; supports dietary services setup/breakdown at training sessions; communicates effectively with staff and residents; performs additional duties as requested by the Dietary Director; instructs assigned residents on proper execution of duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Two years' experience in an institutional setting
- Special study in food preparation
