Job Summary
Produce visually appealing and good-tasting foods to Omaha Performing Arts standards by seasoning, cooking, and garnishing soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using various kitchen equipment while regulating oven and grill temperatures. Portion and serve food to patrons during meal periods, observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking and seasoning. Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods while following all safety rules and ServSafe/HACCP programs. Work on feet for 7.5 hours daily excluding breaks, lifting up to 25 pounds, with a starting rate of $20.00/hour. Promote O-pa Core Values of Trust, Collaboration, Integrity, and Inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to correctly and safely use standards kitchen equipment. Chefs' knives; Convection ovens; Rotating rack ovens; Meat and cheese slicing machines, steamers, mandolins, grills and broilers.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for food preparation.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Employee must be able to work on their feet 7.5hrs/day excluding breaks.
- Employee has to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
- Possess ServSafe Certificate or State/City Food Handlers Card
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to use basic computer programs for inputting and organizing data and menus.
