Job Summary
Repair and maintain desktop computers, police car, and fire truck systems daily. Ensure critical applications and systems are functioning. Operate city vehicles to perform essential functions. Provide regular personal computer support, technical help, and basic software support. Install equipment and coordinate projects as a level I technician. Perform any other related duties as assigned. This safety-sensitive role supports all city departments in Jonesboro, Arkansas, requiring a valid driver's license and pre-employment background check.
Required Qualifications
- High school or GED
- Specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area
- 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training
- Valid Driver License
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature
