Job Summary
Mentor nursing students in person at inpatient clinical settings on Maui, Oahu, Lanai, and Kauai by bridging classroom learning with real-world patient care. Plan and supervise clinical experiences, evaluate student performance against course objectives, and provide documented feedback. Develop written clinical assignments, correct homework and paperwork, and orient students to agency policies. Contribute to program development, participate in assessment efforts, and serve as a professional role model for students and staff. Schedule is determined by course need for 8-week sessions, typically involving 3-4 consecutive 12-hour shifts over 1-2 weeks. Compensation ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment. Applicants require a master's or doctoral nursing degree, an unencumbered RN license in Hawaii (with Illinois license required for all courses), and at least two years of recent professional nursing experience.
Required Qualifications
- A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
- An unencumbered professional RN nursing license in Hawaii
- Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses
- Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network)
- At least two years professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
