Job Summary
Part-time Client Support Specialist at Anderson Shelter responsible for trauma-informed support, shelter engagement, and promoting community living. Responsible for carrying a caseload of clients, providing emotional presence, structure reinforcement, and behavioral guidance; documenting interactions; escalating needs to Advocacy Team; maintaining professional boundaries; and collaborating with Shelter Operations leadership to ensure a safe, structured, welcoming environment. Reports to the Director of Shelter Operations; role emphasizes engagement, de-escalation, and adherence to shelter routines while supporting clients’ emotional well-being.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in shelter, residential, or communal living environments preferred
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and structured support approaches
- Strong communication, documentation, and follow-through skills
- Computer literacy required, including the ability to navigate client databases and use Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) for documentation and internal communication
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
