Job Summary
Part-time cleaner at Raby Castle and The Rising, responsible for maintaining high-quality cleanliness across visitor facilities and staff areas. Duties include comprehensive cleaning (floors, bins, vacuuming, toilets, dusting), cleaning of staff facilities, and providing holiday/sickness cover across the estate (including High Force Hotel and Raby Estate Office). May work weekends on a rota and cover event days. Emphasis on hygiene, safety, and reporting maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor or General Manager; duties also include documenting routine inspections, adhering to COSHH and manual handling policies, and representing the estate with a professional appearance. Required qualities include efficiency, reliability, attention to detail, the ability to work as part of a team, discretion with confidential information, and a willingness to learn and develop professionally. The role is part-time with annualised hours and an hourly rate above the national minimum wage."
Required Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a cleaner
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and machinery
- Attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Discretion and ability to handle confidential information
- Enthusiasm to learn and undertake continuing professional development
- Great team player
