Job Summary
Plan and deliver engaging choir and vocal music instruction for students in grades 4–8. Teach vocal techniques, music theory fundamentals, rhythm, and performance skills. Prepare students for school performances, concerts, and special events. Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with school leadership and staff to support student success. Maintain classroom management and uphold school expectations. Incorporate a variety of musical styles and age-appropriate repertoire.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in music education or related field
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Music Education endorsement or currently enrolled in a teacher certification program and actively working toward certification
- Experience working with children in an educational, musical, or youth development setting
- Strong vocal and music instruction skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
