Part-time Certified Recovery Peer Advocate

Utilize life experience to engage individuals within the program and community, developing brief person-centered service plans and providing referrals to needed services. Assist counselors with referring clients to alternative levels of care when clinically indicated and collaborate with Hospital Screening Brief Intervention and Referral Treatment Health Coaches to assess needs and connect them to treatment across Suffolk County. Remain actively involved and follow up with individuals and/or families after hospital discharge. Promote the Program through information, education, and outreach to local communities, agencies, and legal/medical professionals by participating in events such as Narcan Trainings, Fairs, and Forums. Collect data to assist reporting to funding sources and document contacts for the Program Director. This part-time role requires two days per week (9 AM – 5 PM plus 1 PM – 9 PM) and offers a rate of $23 per hour. Certification as a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate and relevant life experience in substance use disorder treatment are required, with bilingual Spanish/English capability preferred.
