Job Summary
Carry out treatment plans to assist patients in regaining independence in daily living activities through hands-on therapeutic interventions and adaptive techniques. Teach patients and caregivers the use of assistive devices to optimize recovery and safety while monitoring and reporting progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care, communicate updates regarding treatment goals, and address patient concerns with professionalism. Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and treatments in compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines. Stay current on advancements in occupational therapy techniques and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Active licensure in the state(s) of practice
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinical or home health setting preferred
