Job Summary
Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide item recommendations while operating scanners, scales, and cash registers. Balance cash registers, generate sales reports, and accept payments ensuring accurate prices and receipts. Process refunds and exchanges, resolve complaints, and bag or wrap purchases for safe transport. Adhere to store procedures for coupons, gift cards, and restricted items like alcohol or cigarettes while maintaining a clean workspace. This part-time role requires 20-29 hours per week with open availability, standing for 5-8 hour shifts, and at least one year of customer service experience. Join the member-owned Weavers Way Co-op to support the local community and over 300 local food vendors through our People-Planet-Profit mission.
Required Qualifications
- A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
- Open availability is required.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- Ability to operate a cash register.
- Ability to stand for entire shift (5-8 hours).
- Good math skills.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing conditions.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment when necessary.
- Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.
