Job Summary
Part-time Business Applications Support Specialist role providing first-level IT support for City of Brooks users. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software and application issues; maintaining Active Directory accounts; providing training on computer and phone systems; supporting Vadim, Laserfiche and Intelligenz; performing MySQL database administration duties (backups/restores); managing IT assets and documentation; maintaining the City Intranet SharePoint site and public website; providing backup coverage for IT Supervisor and front-desk/receptionist support as needed; and ongoing learning to stay current with Windows & Office systems. Requires problem-solving and communication skills, ability to handle workload with interruptions, and willingness to assist with data uploads and records management tasks; subject to criminal record check.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar setting
- Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills in a Windows client/server environment
- Preferably possesses or is working towards a Degree or Certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage workload including the ability to tolerate frequent interruptions and still meet deadlines
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding department and municipal matters
