Part Time Bus Driver

Job Summary
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus using the Daily Bus Inspection form, maintaining clean and adjusted exterior mirrors and interior. Operate the bus safely while obeying state traffic laws, school board regulations, and defensive driving principles, reporting hazards to officials and ensuring students do not stand in loading areas. Perform at least one evacuation drill per school year, documenting procedures in the checklist log, and complete all required reports on discipline, maintenance, and incidents. Maintain routes and schedules as planned by the local school board while remaining alert to weather, road conditions, and railroad crossings.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age
- HS diploma or GED
- valid Class A or B with a "P" and "S" endorsement
- meet vision and hearing requirements
- acceptable driving record
- be insurable
- pass background and pre-employment drug screen
- agree to one mandatory drug test as part of the hiring process
- agree to random test(s) and post accident testing
- be tested if recommended by the driver's supervisor
