Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Must be at least 25 years of age
• •Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with active Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• •Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and maintain a valid medical examiner's certificate
• •Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check
• •Must pass fingerprinting
• •Must pass a 5-year motor vehicle record (MVR) review
• •Must pass ongoing random federal drug/alcohol screenings
• •Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
• •Must be able to undergo a drug screening
• •Must be able to comply with ADA requirements
• •Regular prolonged sitting while driving
• •Physical agility to climb bus stairs and move quickly during emergency evacuations
• •Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• •Ability to work in varying outdoor weather conditions
• •Ability to handle road hazards
• •Ability to handle heavy traffic
• •Must be available for an early morning schedule
• •Must be available during the academic school year
• •Must be available for part-time work
• •Must be able to safely operate a school bus
• •Must be able to pick up and drop off students at designated stops
• •Must be able to conduct required daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• •Must be able to promptly report any mechanical deficiencies
• •Must be able to physically check the bus after every route
• •Must be able to maintain order, safety, and discipline among student passengers
• •Must be able to maintain accurate documentation
• •Must be able to maintain daily mileage logs
• •Must be able to maintain student rider counts
• •Must be able to maintain incident reports
• •Must be able to keep the interior of the assigned bus clean, sanitized, and presentable

Desired Qualifications

• •Prior commercial driving experience
• •Experience working with children
