Job Summary
Lead enrichment, recreation, and academic support sessions while building positive relationships with students in a safe, engaging environment. Facilitate homework help, guide conflict resolution, and participate in games, fitness activities, and outdoor play to develop social-emotional and leadership skills. Manage daily program setup, student check-in, attendance, and dismissal procedures while maintaining an organized learning space. Assist with setup and cleanup, ensure student safety, and follow all policies and licensing requirements. Work full days Monday through Friday in morning and afternoon shifts at Highline Academy or Denver Waldorf School. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Candidates must be 18 years old
- 3 months (455 hours) of verifiable formal work experience with kids over 4 years old
- Early Childhood Professional Credential of a Level 1 or higher
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Available to work all five days of the week for the full morning and/or afternoon shift
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday: 6:30AM-8:00AM and 3:30PM-6:00PM
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday: 7:00AM-8:00AM and 3:30PM-6:00PM
- Must be able to work all five days of the week for the full morning and/or afternoon shift (Denver Waldorf School)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for youth development
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
