Job Summary
Positive Support Specialists (PSS) work in Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs, providing support for individuals with intensive medical, behavioral, and mental health needs. Responsibilities include assisting individuals in achieving independence in life skills, advocating for their rights and medical care, documenting records, managing crisis situations, and engaging in trauma-informed care. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and have experience working with individuals with complex needs.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals
- Physically able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study
- Valid driver's license
- Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) required
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in a field relevant to this role
- 3-5 years of relevant experience working with individuals with complex needs
