Job Summary
Facilitate assigned AVID classes in designated locations and times, establishing clear objectives and presenting subject matter aligned with Texas Education Agency guidelines. Guide students through WICOR skill development in Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading while providing active participation opportunities and feedback on progress. Cooperate with teachers to implement instructional goals, assist students in improving study habits, and maintain classroom order and safety. Present a positive role model for college and career readiness, establish open communication lines with staff and parents, and participate in ongoing AVID tutorial training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- college hours from an accredited college/university
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written)
- ability to instruct
- ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- General knowledge of the curriculum in English
- General knowledge of the curriculum in Math
- General knowledge of the curriculum in Science
- General knowledge of the curriculum in Social Studies
- good knowledge of child growth and development
Desired Qualifications
- 2.5 G.P.A., evidenced by a college transcript
